Mischa Barton launches handbag collection in London

Mischa BartonMischa Barton was in London earlier this week talking about the launch of her own handbag collection.

The range, inspired by the vintage finds the former 'O.C.' actress sourced on her travels, hits UK stores John Lewis, Debenhams and Fenwicks on July 2nd.

According to Elle magazine, the collection features leather, snakeskin and fabric bags all finished with a flower logo hand drawn by Mischa.

"Mischa has always loved fashion," her rep said Wednesday, "and especially handbags, which is why she jumped at the chance of creating her own line with a team of designers."

Though Mac McCaughan has muckle to keep him fussy -- playing in Superchunk, managing the successful Merge Records -- he likewise spends time transcription as Portastatic. With a variable batting order, the side-project has recorded two albums and respective singles since 1993, when Tom Sharpling of 18 Wheeler Records asked McCaughan to button some of his lo-fi, four-track recordings; he obliged with the singles "Sandals with White Socks" and "Freshman." Then in 1994, McCaughan released an intact Portastatic album, I Hope Your Heart Is Not Brittle. The radical followed with the Scrapbook EP and a second album, Irksome Note from a Sinking Ship. Nature of a Sap appeared in 1997. 2000's EP De Mel, De Melao paid court to classic Brazilian artists like Caetano Veloso and Arnaldo Baptista. In 2001, McCaughan returned with Looking for Leonard, the score to a film written and directed by Superchunk fans Matt Bissonette and Steven Clark. The uncut Summer of the Shark was released in 2003, only not before some other circumscribed edition undivided (2002's The Perfect Little Door).

'I'll Pick Ryan's Wife,' Says Seacrest's Mom

Ryan Seacrest might be a big shot executive these days, but there's one decision he won't be making without his mommy.

The TV mogul's mother, Connie, says that she expects to have a say when it comes to choosing his future wife!

"I'll certainly get a vote," she told Parade magazine. "I want Ryan to make the right choice. I guess that's a mother's dream."

But Connie, who feature's in his new NBC show Momma's Boys, says she has a little work to do on the American Idol host's lifestyle before Mrs Right is even going to look twice.

"Ryan likes to date, but he's so busy now. There's not a woman in the world that wants to go out with a guy who gets up at 4:30 in the morning and goes to bed at 8:30 at night.

"We're going to find him a better life as far as not working every single hour of the day before he makes a commitment."

But when the time is right, Mamma Seacrest she can vouch that her boy will make a great husband.

"But every woman should know that if the guy treats his momma well, he'll definitely take care of the girlfriend, and that describes Ryan perfectly."

We’re kinda stuck on the Affordable Art Fair — lowly art bloggers tend to be so inclined. But not only because it makes us imagine the possibility of one day hanging our rustic (read: flaking, moldy) urban walls with art, but also because so much of this affordable art (well, it’s still a little out of our price range) is really fantastic: dreamy, grand, surprising. Above, Tim White’s mellow, sparkling rendering of what the term “blank slate” should muster in the imagination. Will.I.Am Reveals Details About His Big-Screen Debut In 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'

LOS ANGELES — Through five decades, three movies and hundreds of comic books, James "Logan" Howlett has been attempting to sift through the clues and figure out the exact nature of his origin. For nearly three years, "X-Men" fanboys have been doing the same, knowing only that their favorite razor-clawed rebel is getting a spinoff that explains his backstory.

And now, Black Eyed Peas rapper Will.I.Am is offering up some rare clues about his feature-film debut opposite Hugh Jackman's iconic superhero in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

"I'm a teleporter. ... I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere. Boom, boom, boom!" Will revealed. "My character's name is John Wraith. He's a black Texan. He's not a cowboy, but his gear suggests that he is. He's just a badass who'll whoop your ass."

Will has been whooping some butt himself in the four months since he landed his first film role, touring the world with the Peas, winning an Emmy last week for his Barack Obama "Yes We Can" video, and even landing a voiceover gig in November's highly-anticipated "Madagascar" sequel. But while he's never been one to hide his "Wolverine" excitement, he revealed to us that the role cost him a lot of blood, sweat and tears.

"You see that little scar I've got on my knuckles?" he asked, holding up his hand. "I'm a newbie when it comes to big action films and stuff. ... It was my fight scene. I was real into it, and then I missed my mark, and I punched the camera and broke the lens!

"But that goes to show you," he grinned. "I ain't to be messed with, because I break lenses!"

Discussing the scene a bit further, Will revealed that once director Gavin Hood replaced his camera lens, he had the rapper/actor run through the battle quite a few more times. "I missed a couple marks," he laughed. "They'd say, 'OK, come in, hit your mark, turn to the left ... and, Action!' I missed my mark! 'All right, take two!' So I missed my mark a couple of times, then I got the hang out of it: Boom! Pow! It probably took me 50 times, but I got it. It was hard for me, but it was cool and fun at the same time."

These days, Will is putting the finishing touches on the May 2009 film and enjoying a pair of new friendships. "Hugh Jackman's the coolest dude," he marveled. Then, speaking about the villainous Sabretooth, he added: "And Liev Shreiber? That dude's my homey.

"It was a really good experience," Will said of the flick, which also stars Ryan Reynolds, Dominic Monaghan, Danny Huston and "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch. "It's my first movie. ... And with 'Madagascar 2,' I think there has to be an angel or something or my grandma's prayers guiding that. It's pretty, pretty dope. And I'm grateful and happy about it all."

Check out everything we've got on "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

Dwarves began in Chicago as a stripling garage rock outfit called the Suburban Nightmare, a sound that was part carried all over into the low Dwarves press release, 1986's Horror Stories. After the first album, Dwarves blazed crosswise the country for seven-spot more years, going a go after of blood from their have self-inflicted gashes, a shack of drug stories (according to popular myth, bassist XXXXX disappeared in Detroit on a crack binge during a 1992 circuit, never to be heard from once more), a dog (or narrative) of outre stage-show sex acts, and a trail of legion 15-minute-long live shows.

Dwarves unsurprisingly self-destructed shortly after a failed humbug, whereby the isthmus issued a press release stating that guitar player He Who Cannot Be Named had died. The album Sugarfix besides carried a testimonial to the guitar player, wHO was actually identical much awake. Sub Pop was not diverted and dropped the band, which later re-formed for 1997's Young and Good Looking. Come Clean followed in early 2000. Four years by and by the band returned with The Dwarves Must Die, including guests Dexter Holland from the Offspring, Nick Oliveri from Queens of the Stone Age, Nash Kato from Urge Overkill, and voice doer Gary Owens.
